We have been producing couvertures for more than a century now. Exclusive cacao beans from different origins are combined with the best raw materials that Switzerland has to offer. Combined with the expertise and the passion that our employees have for processing cacao, we manage to attain perfect results

Our focus is on constantly striving to produce the very highest quality products. Each processing step is carefully designed to obtain the optimum flavour out of every couverture. The combination of time, traditional craftsmanship and in-depth expertise results in products of unsurpassed flavour.

Felchlin sensory panel

For the purpose of meeting the superior quality requirements, we have established an in-house sensory panel. The members come from different departments and are continuously trained and tested. One of the tasks of the sensory panel is to describe the different characters, flavours and intensities of the individual cacao beans, as well as the couvertures, and to ensure that the quality is consistently maintained.

Careful selection

We invest a great deal of time and effort in the selection process of our raw materials, cacao in particular. Prior to purchasing cacao, we check a preliminary sample both visually and sensorially. After the beans have been transported from their origin to our cacao warehouse in Basel, a further sample is checked and compared, then during processing, each cacao bag is opened by hand and the quality is once again assessed. Thanks to the many years of experience and expertise of our employees, only flawless, first-class raw materials will end up in our couvertures.
