Sirha Lyon: sustainable and ethically responsible couverture production

SIRHA is a leading international trade fair for the catering, hotel and food industries with the 22nd edition taking place in Lyon from 23 to 27 January 2025.

Felchlin was once again represented as an exhibitor and together with our French distribution partner ELVEZIA, we held numerous animated discussions with visitors from all over the world.

With around 260,000 trade visitors, the trade fair recorded growth of 25% compared to the last edition held two years ago. Highlights included renowned competitions such as the 'Bocuse d'Or' and the 'Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie', which this year was won by Japan.

Our focus this current year was on direct purchasing and the seamless traceability of Grand Cru Cacao. Sustainability and ethical responsibility was in the spotlight and took centre stage at our stand. Together with our partners Yayra Glover Ltd. from Ghana and Sambirano SA from Madagascar, we share a commitment to sustainable, ethical practices and promote a better future for cocoa farmers and their families. Both partners were there in person to give visitors a first-hand insight into the local projects. Through initiatives such as the «Akwaaba» project in Ghana, we are providing cocoa farmers and their families in our value chain access to basic healthcare. Concurrently, we are delighted with the success of the «Salama Mateza» pilot project in Madagascar, which continues to thrive under local management.

In conjunction with our partners and customers, we are sustaining the production of chocolate couverture both responsibly and ethically.
